What a bank profile holds

Each bank carries its certificate number, charter state, total assets, equity, return on assets and equity, net interest margin, net income, domestic deposits and the nonperforming and charge-off ratios for construction, commercial, multifamily and residential real estate. Those real-estate ratios are what the stress score weighs most.

From balance sheet to property

A bank with rising nonperforming real-estate loans will tighten lending in the counties where it holds branches and will dispose of foreclosed collateral there. DLRadar maps each bank's deposits by ZIP to find those counties, which is how a call report becomes a property signal.

Reach the banks

Each bank has a public profile under bank stress, and the monthly watchlist delivers every bank's score, margin and nonperforming ratios as a file.
