FEMA Flood Zones by ZIP: Share of Parcels Inside the Special Flood Hazard Area (2026)
DLRadar maps parcels to FEMA flood zones and rolls the result up to each ZIP: how many parcels are mapped, how many sit inside a special flood hazard area, how many are rated very high, and a flood level for the ZIP. The parcel's own zone sets the dossier flag; the ZIP share is the context. This report gives the national totals, the level mix and the ZIPs where nearly every mapped parcel is inside a hazard zone.
- 2,012,706 of 9,825,003 mapped parcels sit inside a FEMA special flood hazard area across 1,166 ZIPs, of 9,912,161 parcels in all (fema-flood-zone).
- 61,972 parcels are rated very high; ZIP flood levels run Low 428, Moderate 235, Undetermined 218, High 153, Very High 132.
- 34139 in Collier County, FL is 100.0% inside the hazard area, 15,043 of 15,046 parcels.
- Shares on the fema-flood-zone card are over mapped parcels only; unmapped parcels stay undetermined.

What fema-flood-zone measures
Parcels, mapped parcels, hazard-zone parcels, counts by risk band (very high, high, moderate, low, undetermined), the hazard-zone share, the high-or-worse share and the ZIP flood level.
How fema-flood-zone is computed
Each parcel's geometry or point is intersected with the current FEMA layer; A and V zones count as hazard zones. Shares are computed over mapped parcels only, so unmapped parcels never inflate or dilute a ZIP. The table is recomputed when FEMA layers refresh.
How to use fema-flood-zone on a deal
A ZIP at or near one hundred percent inside the hazard area is a market where every financed purchase carries flood cover and every remapping moves premiums; sellers there are the core of insurance-driven distress. A ZIP with a moderate share is where the parcel-level flag matters, because the next street may be outside the zone.

FEMA Flood Zones by ZIP: Share of Parcels Inside the Special Flood Hazard Area (2026): questions
Why are some ZIPs mostly undetermined?
Parcels without usable geometry are left undetermined rather than guessed; the share counts mapped parcels only.
Does the ZIP level change the parcel flag?
No. The flag is the parcel's own zone; the ZIP level is the neighbourhood read.
Is this national?
The table covers the ZIPs whose parcels have been mapped, which is deepest in Florida; the counts state the coverage.

FEMA Flood Zones by ZIP: Share of Parcels Inside the Special Flood Hazard Area (2026) (fema-flood-zone) is computed from FEMA flood layers mapped to parcels and rolled up by ZIP; the FEMA flood-zone card is research (fema-flood-zone), not legal advice; nothing on the fema-flood-zone page is tax or fema-flood-zone investment advice, so verify every fema-flood-zone figure with its issuing agency before acting.
